Mission: Our SSCS After-School Program will provide homework help and opportunities for enrichment for SSCS students.
When: Monday – Friday from 3:30 – 5:30 p.m. at SSCS (when SSCS is in session – this will not include days that there is no school or half days)
Where: At St. Stephen Catholic School in room #2 (aka. 5th grade homeroom)
Who: Mrs. Carter, other SSCS teachers and staff members.
How: Please complete the attached form to enroll your child in our afterschool program or pick up an SSCS – ASP form in the office.
Homework Help from 3:30 – 4:30 p.m. offered at no charge to any SSCS student Monday – Thursday. (Fridays will play time from 3:30 – 5:30 p.m. at $8.00 per hour. Thus, $16.00 per child if your child stays for two hours.)
SSCS-ASP will provide enrichment learning games and activities the charge will be $8.00/hr. that will be billed through SSCS. These activities include: Math Games – depending upon ages – Make 10, Doubles, Dominos (Train, Fractions, Adding, Subtracting, 101, Farkle, Spoons, Make 7, Battleship)
Robots – this will only work up to 10 students
Engineering with Planks (small wooden planks)
Late Pick/Up fees of $1 per minute will apply. Paid in cash to the teacher in the room.
Billing/Collections – We will run the billing through SSCS FACTS. Families who get behind in afterschool payments will not be able to attend after-school until they get their payments caught up.
Fridays – Generally, there is no homework on Fridays. There will be play time for the 2 hours including: movies in the winter months – outside when weather permits. We will charge for both hours on Fridays.
3:45 -4:00 Procedure – The After-School students will check into the 5th grade homeroom (a.k.a. Rm #2) at 3:45pm. All students left after 3:45pm are automatically checked into the Afterschool Room. They will do homework until picked up. If left beyond 4:15pm, they are charged $8 per hour – charges are by the hour.
The students waiting for tutoring will also be checked into the After-School Room until the tutor picks them up.
