Mrs. Lisa Noteboom – Kindergarten Teacher I am excited to work at St. Stephen Catholic School and to be a part of all it has to offer to the students, families, and the communities it serves. I am blessed to have found my calling to teach. I am passionate about working with children.
Some of my professional highlights are: -BS Degree in Rehabilitation, Orientation, and Mobility from Stephen F. Austin State University - Professional Teaching License from Colorado Christian University’s Alternative Program -20 years of teaching experience I am originally from Baton Rouge, Louisiana. We moved often as I grew up. We lived in Texas, Arkansas, Colorado, and back to Texas. I attended Stephen F. Austin State University in Nacogdoches, Texas and received a BS degree in Rehabilitation and Orientation and Mobility. After an internship at The Louisiana School for the Blind and Visually Impaired and working at a summer camp for visually impaired and/or specials needs adults, I realized my passion lies in working with children. I worked as a direct service provider and consultant for visually impaired students at the Region One Educational Service Center in Edinburg, Texas for several years.
Then, I moved to Baton Rouge, Louisiana to be closer to family. While there I worked with the East Baton Rouge Parish School District providing direct services and consultations for 9 years. Most of my students ranged in ages from 3-21.
Our family came to New Castle in 2006 to be near family and to enjoy the benefits of mountain living. In New Castle, I knew that I needed to develop community support for my son at his school. I was a volunteer mom from my son’s preschool through his 4th grade year. My work and prior educational experience led me to be asked to become a paraprofessional at my son’s school, Kathryn Senor Elementary. I worked for three years in the kindergarten program. Then, I accepted a long-term substitute teaching position. Shortly thereafter, I accepted a first-grade teaching position. While teaching at Kathryn Senor, I earned my Colorado State Teaching License through Colorado Christian University’s Alternative Program. My family and I enjoy traveling and exploring. Historical places, especially those involving WWII, are our favorites. Locally on of our favorites is the Glenwood Hot Springs Pool. Morgan is now attending Glenwood Springs High School and he enjoys being a part of its Air Force JROTC program. I feel so blessed to become a part of Stephen Catholic School’s family and community. Teaching kindergarten is so much fun!
